Hayley Logan: After completing her undergraduate studies and qualifying as a Pharmacist, Hayley chose to pursue a career in medicine. Hayley is excited to be part of the 2013 Manali team and continuing the work of the project. Hayley is also looking forward to experiencing the clinical environment in a developing, rural area.
Jake Schmidt: Following completion of his high school studies at St Joseph’s Gregory Terrace, Jake commenced undergraduate entry medicine at the University of Queensland. Jake’s previous experience volunteering in a school in India drew him to the project and he relishes the opportunity to return to the country as part of the project.
Elizabeth Twist: Elizabeth completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta in Cell Biology. After two years of research, Elizabeth moved to the warmer shores of Brisbane to commence Medicine at UQ. Elizabeth has always had a desire to experience India and the Manali Medical Aid Project provided a unique opportunity to experience the country and give back as more than just a tourist.
Vandit Bhasin: Van completed his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering in 2008 and following four years of working in the oil and gas industry, decided to pursue a career change in medicine because people are more fun than pipes. Growing up in a developing country, Van is excited to experience a developing health care system from the inside with a team of passionate staff.
